Mercy Day- Monday Update!

Dear friends and prayer warriors,

We had such a great day- a full day- an emotional day. Mercy is HERE with us! We are now finishing up with the shower/bedtime routine. There are so many blessings and we are so grateful to God for this journey!!

Mercy speaks some English, and she was able to talk back and forth with our guide translating on FaceTime with the kids back at home with Miss Meredith! We could tell she was overwhelmed and nervous at first but she did great. She continues to warm up to us, and we are seeing such a beautiful, fun personality shine through! She wants to hold both of our hands as we walk through the city or in the hotel. She was disappointed the other kids are not here to greet her in person, but we did get to FaceTime tonight and it was wonderful!!!

Allie sent a blanket with us that she made for Mercy, and as you can see, she absolutely LOVED it! She was also so excited about the matching pj's with Mama and Mercy! Can't wait to get a picture of all THREE "big girls" wearing our matching sets when we are all together again! What a privilege to walk this road!

We are using lots of gestures and pointing and laughing at ourselves. We welcome your continued prayers. This is so very different from adopting a younger child; there are so many things to consider and discuss! We are so thankful for your prayers...please keep them coming! You can pray specifically for Mercy's continued adjustment as we get to know each other these first few days, and for strength and rest for us as we continue to adjust to China time :) We would also love for you to keep our 4 back at home in your prayers- for health and safety and for Miss Meredith's strength and energy as she keeps them for the 3 weeks we are gone! We love you all!

With love and gratitude,

Art and Jen
